Algeria: ANP forces kill 18 AQIM terrorists
Forces of the National Popular Army (ANP) have killed 18 AQIM terrorists over the last two weeks, the Algerian interior minister Mr Daho Ould Kablia announced in a statement to the press in the eastern city of Tizi Ouzou.
- ANP troops eliminated the AQIM terrorists amid a series of roundups in the northern Tizi Ouzou province in the region of Kabylia, local media cited Daho Kabila as saying.
- “Kabylia’s terrorism problem consists of the fact that terror cells get logistical support from some ill-advised local people,” Daho Kablia said.
- “To fight these nefarious groups, the people of the area have to help the security forces hunt down and neutralize the remaining terrorists in the whole region, the interior minister added.”

The heavy vegetation of Kabylia’s mountains gives terrorist groups cover to form underground bases, he asserted.
