Forces of the National Popular Army (ANP) have killed 18 AQIM terrorists over the last two weeks, the Algerian interior minister Mr Daho Ould Kablia announced in a statement to the press in the eastern city of Tizi Ouzou.

• ANP troops eliminated the AQIM terrorists amid a series of roundups in the northern Tizi Ouzou province in the region of Kabylia, local media cited Daho Kabila as saying.

• “Kabylia’s terrorism problem consists of the fact that terror cells get logistical support from some ill-advised local people,” Daho Kablia said.

• “To fight these nefarious groups, the people of the area have to help the security forces hunt down and neutralize the remaining terrorists in the whole region, the interior minister added.”
