Algeria are just 90 minutes away from qualifying ticket to South Africa

The Algeria football squad target Africa Cup of Nations qualification, hoping to carry the day with style once again in the return qualifier versus Libya on Sunday evening ,October 14th, in Blida’s Tchacher stadium, 50 km from the capital Algiers. The much-awaited fixture is expected to attract thousands of Algerian football fans who yearn for the Greens’ qualification to 2013 AFCON finals.

Algeria target Africa Cup of Nations qualification, hoping to carry the day once again in the return qualifier versus Libya on Sunday evening ,October 14th, in Blida’s Tchacher stadium, 50 km from the capital Algiers.

Following a 1-0 win against Libya in the first leg of their second round Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, Algeria are just 90 minutes away from a ticket to South Africa.

The away fixture in neutral Morocco was marred by scuffles on the pitch between players of the two sides after blatant provocations from some Libyan players and Algerian midfielder Adlene Guedioura fears the second leg could prove just as fiery.

Algeria midfielder Adlene Guedioura told reporters; ”Like you saw in the last match , the Libyan team was extremely aggressive, even beyond aggressive, so we’re going to prepare for Sunday’s qualifying match in Blida.

I don’t think that the Libyan players will change their tactics. We were well prepared for the previous match and we saw some videos of them, Now, we have to concentrate on ourselves. We know how aggressive they are and have to avoid their provocations.”

Algeria are very sanguine to qualify with flying colours for the AFCON finals next January in South Africa for the first time since they finished fourth in Angola 2010.
