Algeria arrests main suspect linked to court break in
Algeria’s police arrested the main suspect involved breaking into a court in Algiers. He is a 38-year-old-man living in the area of Bach Djerah in Algiers. He stole 4 computers and 4 central processing units, Echorouk has learnt.
Investigations show that the suspect went to the court on Thursday to attend his friends’ trial. He slept there and woke up late at night. He broke into 10 offices in 3 floors. He sold the stolen equipment to a computers trader in Bach Djerah.
The thief was identified through surveillance cameras which were partially functional.
The police are working on fingerprints and are expected to deliver a report on Tuesday.
It is believed that the suspect was drunk. Yet, questions are raised over the responsibility of security guards who were inside the sourt.
This comes as 30 accused will appear in court in the next few days over the Sonatrach and Khalifa corruption cases.
