Algeria BAC 2008: confusion among candidates and denial from Education Ministry on printing errors

Teachers and specialized people in English language and the ministry of national education denied the existence of an error in the numbering of the baccalaureate 2008 English exams copies for experimental sciences, technical mathematics and management specialities.

They also confirmed that the questions order was sequenced for both multiple choice subjects and that it concerns only the pupils’ habit of dealing with one exam paper instead of a doubled paper.

A problem in the English language exam questions caused confusion among candidates in the new system as they answered on the part of the topic that has not been chosen because of the presence of other questions on the first topic paper. On the other hand, other teachers confirmed that there is an error in the papers order because the pupils were surprised when they opened the exam papers from right to left, which led them to confusion.

English language numbering error made some pupils unaware that they should have answered the first part of the second topic and they did not notice this only after a long time. In this regard, teachers talked about the value of half an hour added by the ministry of the national education so that the pupils could concentrate more and identify the answers.

Some pupils asked by Echorouk said that the error was due to the similarity between the two multiple choice questions, where both spoke about trade subject – as confirmed by professors specialized in English-, such as Zouhir Belkadi.
