Algeria: Central Union’s executive committee to hold first session
Secretary General of Algerian Workers’ General Union Abdelmadjid Sidi Said

Secretary General of Algerian Workers’ General Union Abdelmadjid Sidi Said Saturday announced that the first session of the Central Union’s executive committee will be held on July 19 in Algiers.

  •
  • The forthcoming session is expected to deal with the election of the 13 members of the national secretariat after a delay of more than 3 months, according to Press attaché at the Union Rachid Ait Ali.
  • The decision to hold the first session of the executive committee came after a conflict inside the Central Union following attempts to deal with appointment logic instead of election.
  • The new Algerian cabinet headed by Ahmed Ouyahia consider organising a summit on tripartite. That means a meeting between the cabinet, employers and the Central Union.
