Algeria / Close coordination between High Commands of 2 military regions to ramp up counter – terrorism struggle.
ANP troop reinforcements have been deployed in several central and eastern regions of the country as part of the sustained struggle aimed at eliminating the remaining terrorist groups who still infesting the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Bejaia and Boumerdes.

Echorouk has learnt from security sources that 2.600 soldiers have been deployed to back up the ongoing combing operations carried out by ANP troops in troubled areas notably in and around forests and mountainous regions of Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia and Bouira where terrorists are believed to be still holed up.

The Army has also increased and reinforced check – points in and around the eastern towns and cities as part of the current stranglehold exerted on terrorist gangs and their hide – outs.

Furthermore, the combined counter – terrorism security units have also been endowed with mobile “Scanners” aimed at verifying the contents of bags, suitcases and the trunks of vehicles in all accesses and exits of the eastern regions to make sure that they don’t contain hidden explosives.

According to the same sources, the High Commands of the first and fifth military regions have decided to reinforce their coordination through a continuous exchange of intelligence data and information about suspected movements of terrorist elements throughout the eastern and central provinces of the country.
