Terrorists behind Algeria December 11 attacks were responsible for an attack on a bus carrying foreigners in Algiers in late 2006, investigators say.

The terrorist group was planning to carry out suicide attacks on a military barracks in Cherchel (west of Algiers), a police department, a police station and the foreign ministry’s headquarters in Algiers, according to the same source.

The attacks were planned by Sofiane Fassila in coordination with Abdelhamid Abu Torab, leader of Farouk Brigade operating in Lakhdaria, Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou.

An architect arrested in January 2008 for the December 11 attacks told investigators he targeted the employees of an American company based in Algiers, Echorouk has learnt.
