Algeria / Detention of 91 people for various criminal offences over a month.

The Police services of the province of Algiers have rounded up 274 people in connection with various criminal offences, with 91 of them being sent to prison after standing trial.

• 38 other people were set free on probation after being subjected to a preliminary investigation.
• The arrests were made during a campaign of deterrence and prevention of crime launched between July 8th and August 8th throughout the province of Algiers on the occasion of the summer season which witnesses, as every year round, a heightened activity with a greater movement of people, notably in and around the capital’s manifold sea resorts.
