Algeria earmarks 182 million dinars for new “ diplomatic property” overseas
The government has enjoined the Public Treasury to assign an extra financial package estimated at 1820 million dinars to the foreign ministerial department in order to allow the latter to acquire brand-new “diplomatic property” abroad.
- To this effect, reliable sources told Echorouk that the foreign ministry had already earmarked 182 million dinars for the purchase of high-grade property in various parts of the world for Algerian embassy and consular personnel worthy of the name and status of our country in the international arena.
- This financial package will also serve for the setting up of all sorts of amenities and the purchase of adequate furniture to be fitted in the various Algerian diplomatic representations abroad.
- The foreign ministry’s operating budget has been propped up by over 2 per cent with a new cash inflow in order to fulfill increasing needs in terms of appropriate accommodation for the Algerian diplomats representing our country in the four corners of the world.
- Several foreign capitals and cities around the globe have been selected by foreign ministry officials including foreign affairs minister Mourad Medelci for such new high- grade property acquisitions in a bid to enhance Algeria’s prestige and credibility among the world nations.
