Algeria East-West Motorway service stations offered to investors competition
Algerian Public Ministers Ammar Ghoul said the government would decide in modalities of offering more than120 service stations along the East-West motorway. The decision will consist either in approving concession right or organising a national.In a seminar, the minister Ammar Ghoul said the motorway project shifted from achievement phase to exploitation and investment one through 120 plants.
A preliminary study recommended creating 60 service spaces along the motorway.
The study, which was presented to the public works minister, the energy minister Chakib Khelil and the deputy minister of national defence abdelmalek Gunaizia during the seminar showed that those spaces would ensure safety of users. “It contains gas stations, mobile units of the National Gendarmerie and fire fighters as well as call centres, restaurants, mosques, parks and entertainment areas.
For his part, Ammar Ghoul stressed the necessity of ensuring “clever distribution” of those spaces and adapting them to international standards.
The same study stressed the respect of a set of international standards in the establishment of those spaces. A distance of 25 to 80 km must be taken in consideration between each space. For instance, the distance between the gas stations, the Gendarmerie and fire fighters units must not go beyond 80 km.
