Algeria expects 2012 grain harvest exceeding 5.8 million tonnes
Algeria expects its overall grain harvest for the year 2012 to reach 5.8 million tonnes or even exceed that level due to better weather conditions and enticing incentives for the country’s farmers, Agriculture Minister Rachid Benaissa said on Thursday.

- “We will reach around 58 million quintals (5.8 million tonnes). The figure may exceed 58 million quintals if there are no problems including fire-breakouts usually caused by high temperatures,” Mr Rachid Benaissa, told the national radio.
