Algeria FAF new president: I will prioritize football
Mohamed Raouraoua
New president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) Mohamed Raouraoua said he will make the national game professional and end all its problems.
-
Once elected at the FAF’s head on Monday, Raouraoua promised to give the priority to the Algerian national players and provide all suitable conditions for better performance.
-
“At the present conditions, we must give the priority to the national squad who are playing the World Cup and the African Cup sualifications,” he said.
-
He blamed teams for asking the help of the Fifa to slove some conflicts, stressing the necessity of settling disputes in home. “We must solve our problems between us. Starting from now, I will not allow giving any issue an international aspect. We must respect our national institutions.”
-
Raouraoua mentioned that he will promulgate a new law to protect team managers and the FAF’s officials.
-
“Starting from now, any team must bear the responsibility of the behaviour of their supporters. I will not accept that supporters harm any official,” he said.
-
Raouraoua believes that violence problem in the Algerian stadiums may disappear in his mandate. “I will set up an anti-violence committee because this phenomenon has spread in the Algerian stadiums.”
-
“I promise to fight violence in stadiums and provide necessary means for that,” he added.
-
Speaking about referees, Raouraoua warned to dismiss any of them who commit errors. “Starting from now, we will not be tolerant with referees.”
-
He said he will create a committee in charge of 6-month-training for referees.
