Algeria / Files of 900.000 contract employees on the desk of the government.

Echorouk has learnt from well – informed sources that the General Workers’ Union –UGTA- has conveyed a file to the government related to the situation of thousands of contract employees who have sought over the years a permanent status but so far to no avail due to manifold constraints.

• According to the same sources the files of about 900.000 contract employees will be under the perusal of the government which is expected to find an adequate solution to this employment problem which has dragged for too long.

• 120 thousand contract employees have been registered in the health sector, 45 thousand in the sector of education and 40 thousand others work in the country’s various municipalities.
