Algeria : five –year plan costs $200 billions

Talking on a cabinet meeting, Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika revealed that the total cost of five –year development program has reached some $ 200 billions so far, and any delay in the implementation of the different projects will lead to additional expenses causing net losses.

  • The additional financial law was calculated around and average oil price of $ 37 per barrel and on the basis of an average inflation of 3.5 percent and a GDP of 3.5 percent, taking into consideration the gross total of importation to something like $30 billions.
  • The president ordered another five –year plan by the horizon of 2013 in order to catch up the inconveniences recorded in the previous one in a bid to serve the best the interest of the population in the future.
