Algeria flag offender pupils brought to justice

Algerian education ministry will prosecute four high school pupils banned from school for offending the national flag, minister said Saturday.

  •
  • “Four high school pupils who detracted from the national flag during catch up classes at the Okba Lycée in Algiers will be brought to justice,” Abu Bekr Ben bouzid told a news agency in Algiers.
  •
  • “They are behaviors that we will never tolerate,” he said.
  •
  • The incident stormed the education community in the district as the pupils torn dawn the national flag and hanged instead a flag of France (the former colonizer of Algeria).
  •
  • Ben Bouzid noted down the “disgraceful character of such behaviors” while “high school pupils, during the national liberation war, left schools to fight the French colonialism.”
