Algeria football federation chief convinces FIFA
Chief of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) Mohamed Raouraoua refused to meet with his Egyptian counterpart Samir Zaher before FIFA's disciplinary committee hearing Wednesday in Zurich, Echorouk has learnt.
- The Egyptian Football Federation’s chief tried to talk to Raouraoua about the complaint lodged by the FAF following the bus attacks in Cairo.
- According to the same sources, Zaher waited for Raouraoua next to the main entrance of the FIFA’s headquarters but the FAF’s chief did not talk to him.
- Raouraoua told the FIFA’s committee about all what happened to the Algerian players in Egypt since they arrived to the airport. He gave a number of evidences condemning the Egyptians. Of them, the Canal+ videos, a video filmed by Rafik Saifi by his mobile phone and pictures of injured players.
- Sources say Raouraoua surprised the Committee who told him the November 14th’s match was a risky event due to tension following the bus attack.
- Zaher tried to give some justifications he had already talked about to the Egyptian press before going to Zurich. He said the Algerian players attacked themselves. The FIFA’s Committee stopped him from talking and asked him to give new evidences.
- Previously, he said he had some new evidences in an attempt to evoke what he calls the Oum Dermane issue. The Committee told him for many times he is in Zurich to talk about the November 14 issue only.
