Algeria football players resolved to participate in charity activities

A number of Algerian professional football players expressed their desire to participate in charity acts in Algeria in favour of poor, orphans and terrorism victims.

Captain of the national squad Yazid Mansouri said he is ready to take part in all the charity activities in the country.

For his part, defender Antar Yahia said the latest massacre perpetrated in eastern Algiers which killed 24 gendarmes affected the players before the match against Zambia.

“We were very touched and we were resolved to bring joy to the Algerian people after that massacre,” he added.

“All the players agreed on dedicating the victory over Zambia to all the victims of that massacre. We present our condolences to their families.”

Most of the “Greens” described the massacre as a shameful barbaric act. They decided to show solidarity to the victims’ families.

“We have strong faith in Allah. We present our condolences to the all victims. We were very touched and we are here to stand by the side of the victims and their families,” said Mansouri.

Previously, a group of the national players gathered at the airport of Johannesburg and decided to present condolences to the victims’ families.

Nadir Belhadj said he is ready to participate in all the charity activities. “We will do our best on the pitch to make all the Algerian people happy.”
