Algeria: former elected officials involved in manipulation and falsification acts

Reliable sources told Echorouk that security forces discovered a new scandal in Oran province (west of Algeria) which rocked culture sector there.

•  Law violations and suspicious transactions in financial and administrative management of concerts and demonstrations committee were recorded in Oran. Former elected officials were caught using official seals in dealing with non-certified artistic groups in order to organize concerts and private parties. On the other hand, they have been absent at official artistic activities for several years.
• Security investigations showed big involvement of supervisors in manipulating committee’s seal and using it for business reasons.
• The same sources revealed the possibility of asking those officials to present detailed bills about all banking operations, as well as informing about real destination of those funds since 2002 to the present day.
• This comes after the backdrop of invoices with new dates signed with concerts commission in Oran.
