Algeria : Gendarmerie, Customs draft joint road-map to quell corruption, banditry, criminality

The National Gendarmerie's High Command and the Customs' General Manager initialled Sunday a joint action plan aimed at combating more efficiently all forms of criminality notably those money laundering networks which finance the so-called Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in its terror activities

The 2 corporate bodies will, for this purpose, exchange exhaustive information and data to wage a relentless fight against organized crime, and all forms of corruption and fraudulent practises.

Henceforth, all investigations will be conducted jointly by the 2 corporate bodies to better clamp down on criminal culprits and bring them before justice without fail.

Elements of the 2 corporate bodies will, to this effect, undergo a special training in a bid to ensure full success of the investigations and to make them better informed of all types of criminal misdeeds and how they should be stamped out.
