Algeria / Gendarmerie Regional Commands not concerned by recent shake-up

The recent shake-up carried out by the National Gendarmerie High Command has not involved the regional groupings notably in the provinces of Oran, Constantine, Ouargla, Tamanrasset, Blida and Béchar.

• Sources told Echorouk that the Gendarmerie regional groupings had, in close conjunction with the ANP armed forces, achieved fruitful results in the unflagging struggle against the scourge of terrorism in various parts of the country
• The ongoing anti – terrorist struggle is being waged by these security bodies with great success notably in those provinces deemed as “difficult” like Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira.
• Furthermore, according to the same sources, the National Gendarmerie envisages to beef up shortly its presence in Kabylia with the aim of further bolstering security in the region.
