Algeria generalizes bomb detectors on security forces in capital

Security measures were stepped up in check points in the capital and mobile troops were mobilized to raid suspicious areas and search doubtful people.

Security forces made changes to their plan as they reinforced their troops in Algiers and mobilized bomb detectors which used to be limited in check points only. Those measures are meant to ensure the safety of strategic institutions. Security guards in Metro and Tramway were assigned to use bomb detectors as well.

This comes amid fears of any possible attack as terrorist organization Al-Qaeda wants to revive its activities after more than 2 years of absence.

Some information show that terrorists plan to hit some strategic institutions ahead of the Algerian presidential elections due to be held in 2014. Security officers are working on avoiding any possible attack as security forces foiled a large number of terror plans.

Security observers warned against the danger of the terrorist organization which came back and appointed new leaders including Said Abu Muqatil who is the head of Tarek Ibn Ziad battalion following the death of Abdelhamid Abu Zaid in clashes with French forces.
