Algeria / GSPC terrorists resort to abductions for hefty ransoms in Boumerdes province

Well-informed sources say that the Salafist group for preaching and combat –GSPC- has resorted, since the start of the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan, to abductions notably of several traders in Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou to wrench hefty ransoms.  

• Experts in security matters say that the resort by GSPC terrorists to kidnappings is obviously aimed at wrenching fresh money on account of the tight stranglehold imposed on them by the combined forces of the National Popular Army for several months now.

• The same sources indicated that 2 wealthy traders had been kidnapped in Boumerdes province and another one in Tizi Ouzou during Ramadhan.

• They were later set free in exchange for a ransom whose amount has not been specified.
