Algeria: Higher Education Minister Is Floating Project To Promote Wide Use Of English At Universities

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Tayeb Bouzid announced on Thursday that the university administrators will be given instructions in order to ensure the success of the exploration process on promoting the generalized use of the English language at Algerian universities.
According to a statement published on Facebook, the Minister stated: “in anticipation of opening the file to promote the wide use of English language at the university, by studying and debating the issue, a digital platform has been worked out to this effect and is to be made available to the university family in particular and citizens in general to allow them to express their views directly on the matter.”
“Today, I urged the directors of the university institutions to take all the necessary awareness and technical measures to make the ongoing process a success,” he added.
According to him, “the process will be available from 05 July to 5 August 2019 through the Ministry’s website and the sites of all higher education institutions and their relevant pages on social networks.”
