Algeria hosts European Film festival
Algeria will be the venue the second edition of the Days of European Film organised by the European Commission starting from Tuesday.

Alice, a Portuguese film directed by Marco Martins will be the first of the 16 full-length films due to be projected until February 11 in Algiers.

“These days are a window of the European production, an occasion to show that Europe is composed of countries of different languages and cultures, but they have the same values,” ambassador of the European Commission’s delegation Laura Baeza told a press conference.

Spain will participate in the festival with En la ciudad de Sylvia of José Luis Guerin while the Love is all film directed by Joram Lürsen will represent Netherlands.

Czech director Bohadan Slama will project Something Like Happiness along with Hungarian György Szomjas’s film The Sun Street Boys.

France is represented by Paris of Cédric Klapisch and Italy by Abuffata of Mimo Calopresti.

The first edition of the Days of European Film took place in 2006.
