Algeria : ill-advised foreign quarters seek to deal blow to national reconciliation
The head of the national commission for the protection and promotion of human rights Farouk Ksentini

The head of the national commission for the protection and promotion of human rights Farouk Ksentini has said that some foreign non-governmental organizations and shadowy quarters overseas are seeking to deal a blow to the charter of peace and national reconciliation enforced in Algeria .

He also indicated that he had, of late, received representatives of repentant terrorists who vented on the occasion their grievances concerning their precarious social situation.

Farouk Ksentini said that he had been handed a petition signed by several hundred repentants who expressed the wish to see their social condition and that of their families be improved as early as possible.

Farouk Ksentini added that the letter containing the grievances of these repentants had been conveyed to the President of the Republic Mr. Abdellaziz Bouteflika.

Farouk Ksentini added that certain ill-advised foreign quarters were currently attempting to use the repentants’ issue to foist on the general public opinion the false idea that the national reconciliation in Algeria had ostensibly met with failure.
