Algeria in favour of an Arab summit on Gaza
Algeria agreed on holding an emergency Arab summit to discuss the situation in Gaza which has been under Israeli strikes for more than two weeks, Secretary General of the National Democratic Rally (RND) said Saturday.

“Algeria accepted the idea of organising an Arab summit on what is happening in the Gaza Strip,” Ahmed Ouyahia said in a meeting in Algiers.
-
“Algeria is ready to be part of the summit,” he added.

Qatar and Syria had called for the Arab summit to deal with the Israeli offensive while Arab leaders decided to take the Gaza case attacks to the UN Security Council.

The UN Council issued a resolution for an immediate ceasefire but Israel has kept up its military offensive killing at least 821 Palestinians since the beginning of the strikes on December 27.
