An Algerian delegation is expected to attend a meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement due to be held on Monday. Algeria will clarify its call to member states to organize an urgent meeting of the UN General Assembly about the situation in the Gaza Strip.

“Algeria will attend the urgent ministerial meeting of of the Palestine Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement due to be held in Tehran on Monday. Its delegation will be led by the Secretary General of the foreign ministry Abdelhamid Snoussi Briski,” said the foreign ministry in a communiqué.

“Algeria will clarify President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s call to hold an emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly about the situation in Gaza,” it added.

Algeria presented an initiative to stop the fight in Gaza and handle the serious human crisis following the Israeli military attacks on civilians.

This comes as part of Algeria’s endeavors to stop the Israeli attacks on Gaza. President Bouteflika offered $25 million to Palestinians triggering Tel Aviv’s anger.

Israel has been attacking Gaza for 28 days killing about 1,900 Palestinians including 300 children, according to the UNICEF.

The World Health Organization said 400,000 Palestinians were deported while big nations and organizations such as the Arab League are impassive.
