Algeria-Iran agreement to fight terrorism and organized crime
The General Manager of the National Police services, Major General Abdelghani Hamel, has signed in Tehran the minutes of a protocol agreement between the Algerian police and its Iranian counterpart at the end of a fruitful working visit to Iran.
The protocol agreement provides for a close bilateral cooperation and a steady exchange of information as part of the struggle against the scourges of terrorism, organized crime and cyber criminality.
Under the accord, the two sides agreed on the necessity of setting up a joint cooperation commission in charge of operational training for the fight against the nefarious plague of crime under all its forms.
Such a commission will meet once a year alternatively in both Algiers and Tehran for a follow-up of the various files to be dealt with by the two partners.
During his stay in Tehran, Major-General, Abdelghani Hamel, conferred with several senior Iranian officials on how best to further upgrade the cooperation ties between the two countries in various fields of endeavour.
