Algerian government’s decision to impose a new tax on people who buy new cars caused an unprecedented “hysterical state” among Algerian families.

• The resolution also raised high alert state amid staff members, who have put their files to banks and applied for loans to buy cars. Customers went at once to rush their files on banks to ensure access to these loans and buy new cars before the execution of the resolution especially that the size of this tax varies from 5 million to 12 million DA on each car.
• Mohamed Henachi, the commercial official of Toyota Company told Echorouk that “The decision creates a state of hysteria among customers in Toyota.”
•  “Showrooms are crowded with customers who are increasing more and more every day to accelerate purchase procedures before the application of the tax decision,” he added.
