Algeria : male population exceeds that of women by 1.04 percent
The female population in Algeria has been set at 49.48 percent.
According to a senior executive at the CNES statistics centre, the male population in Algeria exceeds that of females by 1.04 percent or an average of 50.52 percent of the total Algerian population.
The female population in the country has been set at 49.48 percent and the number of people aged between 20 and 24 is the highest reaching an average of 21.11 percent.
The number of births of male babies, he said, is slightly increasing overtaking that of female babies.
He indicated, in this respect, that the number of new births, male and female babies taken together, had reached 740,000 annually while the number of deaths has been set at 140,000 per year.
