Algeria-Morocco crisis: Algeria avoids pouring oil on fire, FM Lamamra says

Algeria avoids pouring oil on fire, in dealing with the official and non-official Moroccan actions and statements, Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra says.

FM Laamamra refused to speak about the mechanisms that will be adopted by the Algerian diplomacy in the future, to respond to the provocations of Morocco.

He only responds to Echorouk question, on the sidelines of the opening of the International Book Fair on Wednesday, regarding the issue by saying: “We reject pouring more oil on fire”, using a diplomatic way, he refused to talk about the statements that were made on Wednesday to media, in which he launched the first official warning by an Algerian official to the Kingdom of Morocco, when he was asked about the statements of the Moroccan Independence Party’s Secretary-General.

Lamamra described the statements of the Secretary-General of Al Mostakbal Party (future) and his attack against the Algerian President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, as “irresponsible and unacceptable” and executable to response in the future and preferred to wait diplomatically, and truce like the usual Algerian way.

“We do not want to pour oil on the fire to respond to the provocative statements”, and to escape of reply, he said that the deadline is cultural and this date should be given the right to speak about the International Book Fair and new works.
