Algeria navy barracks attacker sentenced to life in absentia

A court in Algiers Tuesday sentenced a suicide bomber to life in absentia in for belonging to an armed terrorist group and attacking a navy barracks in Algeria in September 2007.

• The suicide bomber Nabil Guacemi nicknamed Abu Musab Azarkaoui was confirmed dead in the attack but the Attorney General says he did not receive any death certificate.

• His seven associates including the recruiter who are on the run got the same sentence.
•  
• In September 2007, some 28 people were killed and 50 were wounded when a car bomb went off on a navy barracks in the coastal town of Dellys (about 50 km east of Algiers).
