Algeria : new financing package to promote rural housing

An accord was signed on Wednesday between the agriculture and rural development bank and the national housing fund dealing with the financing of rural housing project set to be launched next June.

It was present at the signing ceremony the bank general manager, Boualem Djebar, the head of fund Nacer Djemaa alongside the finance minister, Karim Djoudi and the housing minister Noureddine Moussa..

According to Boualme Djebbar the project aims to “ boost the financing of housing as part of the five-year plan project on one hand, and determine the general framework of the cooperation between both institutions in order top promote rural housing”.

The housing minister declared that rural housing represents 37 percent of the overall quinquennial plan and 57 percent of the subsidized housing units by the government.
