Algerian parliament's administration finally decided in the pay raise of the parliament's employees. This increase comes within the new national wages system which started in the beginning of 2008 with the basic laws of different public service sectors.

Officials at the parliament said that the wages increase were between minimum 4,000 and 5,000 DA and maximal 11,000 DA for the parliament’s executives.

For his part, the vice-president of the parliament in charge of the staff Ben Halima Boutouika told Echorouk Al Yaoumi Wednesday that the employees will benefit from the raise before next July.According to the official, the delay in those increases was due to discussions and consultations. They are expected to be formalized by the parliament’s bureau as well as the finance and budget committee next month.

The raise of the deputies’ pays remains suspended as the issue is now handled by the Republic President who previously received a report from the parliament’s representatives.
