Algeria poised to take tit for tat measures following Egypt's reported decision to include Algeria on a “black list”

“Echorouk” has learnt from authorized sources at the foreign Ministry that Algeria is examining how best to take tit for tat measures against Egypt's decision to include Algeria on a black list as reported by the Egyptian news media allegedly on the grounds that Algeria and four other Arab countries including Yemen, Iraq, Mauritania and Somalia are “the home grounds of terrorist activities waged by Al Qaeda terror organization”.

• The same sources said that Algeria was now endeavouring to confirm the authenticity of such a black list marginalizing Algeria.

• Such a black list reported by the Egyptian press has however not yet been officially confirmed by the Egyptian authorities who have so far kept silent on the matter.

• “Algeria is not used to take a decision in a reaction to foreign news reports but is waiting for an official statement from the Egyptian authorities in Cairo to outline its position regarding its next move”, the same sources said.

• Under this reportded “black list”, the citizens of these five targeted countries on a trip to Egypt will be subjected to thorough searches with the use of body scanners at all Egyptian airports and their movements will be closely monitored by the security services during their stay in Egypt, according to Egyptian news reports.
