Algeria: ponds swallow dozens of children in a month and 15 days
Ponds, marshes and valleys swallowed more than 65 people during a month and 15 days. Most of the victims are children and teenagers living in interior areas where temperature is very high there are no swimming pools, according to general department of Civil Protection.

The Civil Protection department warned of the high number of casualties recorded in August. The number of visitors of restricted areas including dams increased in August. Twelve people were killed due to sediment there where children’s legs usually stay attached causing their drowning.

Wells left 14 victims because of their toxic gases and difficult waters as well.
