Algeria ready to treat 1,000 Gaza wounded

Algerian solidarity minister Djamel Ouled Abbas said his country is ready to receive 1,000 wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip provided they come back home after treatment.

A total of 15 psychologists will fly to Gaza Monday to help traumatized people following Israel’s 22-day-deadly offensive in the territory, Oueld Abbas told a press conference in Algiers.

“The 15 psychologists will be followed by successive groups of Algerian doctors,” he added.

Israel began its massive offensive in the territory on December 27 killing more than 1,450 Palestinians and causing over $1.9 billion casualties.

Algeria has pledged to donate $200 million to help rebuild the Gaza Strip.
