Algeria receives two Sukhoi 30 MKA aircrafts
Sukhoi 30

Russian group “Aircot” which is specialized in Russian Sukhoi aircrafts announced that it handed two aircrafts type “Sokhoi 30 MKA”, Flanker with multiple roles, under the deal between Algeria and Russia in March 2006. The two parties agreed on transferring Algerian debts towards the Soviet Union previously.

  • The official Russian agency “Novosti” said through its spokesman from “Aircot” that the two aircrafts were handed on May 31.
  • The same agency said that they will be re-assembled by professional Russians and Algerians in the Algerian air base before Russian pilots’ experimental flights to ensure their safety. Then, they will be officially handed over to the Algerian national army. This is a precautionary step to avoid any disagreements about their potential hostilities, as happened in earlier times, with MIG29, which Algeria retuned 15 of them to Moscow.
  • The two SOKHOI 30 MKA are designed to be matched with the Algerian air privacy, in addition to their high potential hostilities directed to destroy the air, sea and land targets, as well as their ability to work at a distant of 3000 kilometres without kerosene’s supply.
  • Algeria is waiting for 28 other aircrafts of the same type until 2010, in addition to 14 and 16 of the type SOKHOI 30 as a compensation for the MIG29 to 15.
  • The general value reached 3.1 billions dollars.
