Algeria relies on foreign laboratories for imported cars control

Mechanical Industry Director at Industry and Investments Promotion Ministry Djamal Eddine Choutri revealed that Algeria relies on foreign laboratories as “a temporary solution” pending for local laboratories rehabilitation to check imported cars conformity with international quality standards. It was discovered that a considerable number of locally distributed cars by accredited importers are kind of unknown “brands” which most of them lack to European cars criteria.Chouri told Echorouk Al Yaoumi that foreign laboratories are inevitable due to the absence of specialized laboratories in Algeria.He added that technical control services will be in charge of deciding in the fate of cars which had been imported before the executive decree on cars import came into force.
