Algeria seeks Turkish construction partnership

Algeria hopes to see more Turkish investors in building projects said the housing ministry in a statement issued Sunday.

“Algerian Housing Minister Noureddine Moussa expressed his wish to see more Turkish companies cooperate with Algerians in building material manufacturing, training and partnership with local companies and technology transfer in construction field,” said the statement.

Algeria is one of Turkey’s most important African trading partners. Trade volume between the two countries rose to $3 billion from $1.3 billion in 2004.

“The Algerian minister and Vice President of Turkey’s Housing Development Administration (TOKI) Ahmed Haluk Kerabel agreed on paving the way for cooperation between the two countries.”

“TOKI is ready to achieve building projects and equipments in Algeria,” said Kerabel.

He was received Sunday by Noureddine Moussa and made a presentation about TOKI’s activities and projects in a number of countries.
