Algeria set to build 3 Billion Dollar-Worth Oil Refinery
Minister of energy and mines, Youcef Yousfi, has announced that Algeria has started setting up a USD 3 billion-worth oil refinery in Biskra, south-east of the capital Algiers.
- Minister of energy and mines, Youcef Yousfi, has announced that Algeria has started the construction of a USD 3 billion-worth oil refinery in Biskra, south-east of Algiers.
- Mr Youcef Yousfi said that the oil refinery underway would have an annual output capacity of 5 million tons.
- He added that 600 permanent jobs were expected to be created as part of this ambitious project, in addition to other enticing job opportunities.
- It is worth noting that the projected refinery is slated to produce in the near future 500,000 tons of benzene, 220,000 tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and 169,000 tons of kerosene.
