Algeria steps up surveillance on borders with Tunisia
Algeria declared an emergency state on its eastern borders with Tunisia fearing of armed groups. Security measures were stepped up along more than 1,000 km on borders.
This comes as the Tunisian interior ministry said more than 800 Tunisians working with ISIS may come back.
A total of 20 surveillance centres and an air base of the National Gendarmerie forces were established.
Security forces inspect all the suspicious cars and use technology to identify many persons.
A security chief in the province of Tebessa Moussa Amroune told Echorouk News that a surveillance system was reactivated and checkpoints were set up. Security forces will keep watch on people and vehicles on borders.
Eastern borders were provided with more than 60 surveillance towers with cameras covering 3.5 km.
Deployed forces on borders are in an alarm state to face any emergency or attempt by terrorists to cross borders.
According to news reports, Tunisian fighters who worked for ISIS came back raising anger among Tunisian people.
