Algeria suffers Mineral Water crisis due to the Heat

The Ministry of Commerce opened an investigation about the crisis of mineral water during the recent period.

Official sources from the Ministry of Commerce, said that its services collected some data, on an attempt to create speculation of the mineral water to raise its price, waiting for a reason of this crisis, which is the second of the kind during the current summer season, after the electricity crisis and interruptions that disturbed the citizens during the same period.

In the same context, Ayach Hafaif, President of the Association for the Protection of business, said that the crisis of the mineral water appeared in many cities recently, due to the end of stocks at the level of companies which are operating in the area, and because workers of these companies decided to benefit from the annual holidays during this period. From the beginning of this week, companies will return to normal activity, and supply mineral water to various traders.

The spokesman said that the high temperatures during the current summer season, has had an impact in the proportion of regular consumption of the mineral water, which led to confusion of the producers who routinely produce a certain amount of it each year, and the black market thrives, as the price of bottles of mineral water reach 25 dinars for a small bottle and 40 dinars for the big one, in light of the absence of agents of surveillance and the fight against fraud.
