Algeria: suicide bomber fails to infiltrate into police barracks in Algeria
The suicide bomber failed to carry out his attack as he was killed before blowing himself up.
A terrorist was killed as he tried to blow himself up at a police barracks eastern Algiers Wednesday at the same time with an explosion of a hand-made bomb next to a coffee shop not far from the barracks wounding three people, according to Algerian News Agency (APS).

A suicide bomber with a bomb belt seized the opportunity of the explosion to infiltrate into the barracks before policemen saw and shot him.

Witnesses saw the suicide bomber’s body torn into pieces at the barracks while the hand-made bomb left three wounded and panic among people.

The so-called Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (formerly known as GSPC) which was behind suicide attacks in Algeria has not claimed responsibility for this attack so far.

Observers believe that the use of the hand-made bomb in this attack was meant to facilitate the infiltration of the suicide bomber into the barracks.

Earlier, security sources confirmed that Al-Qaeda decided to turn to individual assassinations after security forces had tightened the noise on it.
