Algeria terror abduction victims to get compensation
People who have been abducted by terrorists in Algeria can benefit from compensations as part of the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation, an initiative launched by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in attempt to end violence.

The compensation process is based on security and judicial investigations on whether the victims were kidnapped by terrorists or criminal networks, Echorouk learnt from security sources.
-
Investigators are focusing on the kidnappers’ aim for their acts to know if it is blackmail or financial supply to the so-called the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), according to the same sources.
-
The GSPC was behind most of abductions in the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Ain Defla and El Oued.

The Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation was approved by more than 97 percent of Algerian voters in a referendum organised in September 2005.
