Algeria: Thousands of unidentified identity telephone lines settled

Final date set by post and telecommunications authority's council will expire on Saturday; that is why thousands of unidentified customers are invited to identify their telephone numbers. The authorities are expected to apply the law starting from Sunday, the first of June.

• According to corroborating sources, the term granted by the authority was not enough because of the network’s customers huge number.
• Mr.Abdou, head of the trade and marketing administration in “Mobilis” recognized that the process initiated by the company is already a major operation although the company launched a process to identify the identities of its customers even before the authorities’ decision, but since the official announcement about the process managed to settle contracts for one million and 200 thousands customer who were unidentified.
• But regarding “Mobilis” costumers’ number, the same official confirmed that the operation needs more time to purify the information’s basis to recognize the biggest costumers’ percentage. He asked for “changing the expiration’s date until next June” because there are thousands of contracts that are not yet verified”. The company thus asked private bodies to help it put the customers’ information to be recorded in the company’s information basis, and all that needs –according to him- more time, regarding customers who still intend by thousands to 45 thousand checkpoints belonging to the company across the country.
• He noticed that the prepared contracts are only done at 100 checkpoints.
• As for “Nedjma” company, has not yet exact numbers, despite the operation is well done, though Mr.Jazairi confirmed” oppression has decreased at Nedjma’s Agencies after 30 April.
