Algeria to reduce Baccalaureate guards number
Candidates are expected to set for the exams on June 2nd.

The number of guards in final exams class will be reduced so that candidates for the Baccalaureate degrees in conditions with less pressure, national education minister Abdelatif Baba Amer said on Thursday.

“There will be some formal specificity in the Baccalaureate 2013 which will affect neither the exams nor the program. The number of guards will be reduced to four instead of five. This will give candidates a sort of trust and not make them feel that they are cheater,” Baba Amer told Echorouk.

“The minister will consider the raise of correction pay to 50 DZ per copy compared to 35 DZ. If financial means are available, we will raise correction pay for each exam copy. We can not ask for an additional budget at present. According to estimates, the new pay will be around 50 DZ,” he added.

The exams will be taken between June 2nd and 6th.
