Algeria to save 14 sick Iraqi children from Israel's grip
An Algerian delegation led by Doctor Bakat Barkani left Sunday for the Jordanian capital Amman where it is to look into the affair of 14 sick Iraqi children who are now the object of manoeuvres by Israeli associations which are seeking to take them to Tel Aviv against their families' will.
Doctor Berkani told a press conference that this affair had taken a political dimension with several news outlets arguing that the Israeli charity association called Chifat AkhimÂwanted to take the 14 Iraqi children for only humanitarian reasons, as it claims.
He said that the Algerian authorities and the UGTA trade union were intent on bringing the 14 Iraqi children, who are suffering from severe heart ailments, to Algeria for a thorough medical care free of charge until their full recovery.
He added that the Algerian move had been warmly welcomed by the relieved families of the 14 Iraqi children who are expected to be flown to Algeria shortly.
