Algeria trains Tunisian officers in the fight against terrorism

Director-General of National Security, Major General Abdelghani Hamel, asserted on the need for cooperation between countries that are under the banner of the International Police Organization “Interpol” in the field of combating the financing of crime, especially terrorism and drying its sources, and the fight against corruption and money laundering in view of their relationship to combating the smuggling and trafficking of arms.

“Algeria works in the framework of cooperation with the Sahel countries that notice a deterioration in the security situation, and offered support to Tunisia and Libya, through the formation of a number of officers in the field of counter-terrorism, with the exchange of intelligence information between the two parties to secure the area.

General Director of the National Security, Major General Abdelghani Hamel, explained on Tuesday, during the opening of the 22nd session of the African Regional Seminar in Oran, that the current challenge of the future lies in the fight against new and renewable forms of organized and transcontinental crime.

“Society is witnessing the emergence of forms of crimes and new dimensions which need to update knowledge and information to combat it. This needs to strengthen regional and international cooperation through the exchange of information, expertise and experiences”.
