Algeria welcomes NGOs to watch presidential elections: minister says

The Algerian president’s spokesperson Abdelaziz Belkhadem has revealed that the African Union will send 80 to 100 observers to supervise the upcoming presidential elections in Algeria.

Talking on the sidelines of the opening yesterday of the spring parliamentary session, M Belkhadem indicated that the Arab League has also decided to send 70 observers to take part in this event in addition to observers from the Islamic Organization Committee whose number hasn’t been disclosed

M Belkahdem indicated that the Algerian authorities sent invitations to organizations in which it takes part as a member only, but it is ready to expand them to other bodies if they express their will to come.
